The Quiet Fire
You finished a certification and knew, before the ink was dry, that it would not hold what walks through your door. Or you are stepping into this field for the first time because your own experience pointed you here, and you want training built for the weight you already know is coming.
Certified Professional Hypnotist | 100 Hours | ICBCH-Aligned | Built for practitioners who want to do real work, not perform it.
Who This Training Is For
You want to practice hypnosis at a professional level with the rigor and depth the work demands. You may be a therapist adding hypnosis to your practice. A career changer entering the healing field because something in your own experience told you this is where you belong. An existing practitioner who finished a certification and knew, before the ink was dry, that it was not enough for what walks through the door.
You want training that starts with what you believe about the person sitting across from you, not with a script. You want evidence behind the techniques you use. You want to be trained to a standard that means something, by someone who built the program from both personal practice and professional rigor.
Who This Training Is Not For
If you are collecting certificates, this program will feel like too much work. If you want a weekend credential, this is 100 hours and you will feel every one of them. If you are looking for scripts to memorize rather than a practice to embody, you will be uncomfortable here. That discomfort is the point. The people who sit across from you deserve a practitioner who has done more than memorize a script.

What Makes This Program Different
Before we teach you a single induction, you need to understand what you believe about the person sitting across from you.
This program is built on six philosophical foundations that most hypnosis training skips.
The client is already whole. You are not installing capacity or fixing what is broken. You are creating conditions safe enough for their system to do what it already knows how to do.
The body holds four kinds of intelligence. This program does not treat the somatic as a warm-up act for the cognitive.
Every technique transfers to the client, because the goal of this work is for the client to stop needing you.
Acceptance and transformation are not opposites. You cannot transform what you refuse to acknowledge.
These are not abstract philosophy. They change how you conduct an intake, how you write a suggestion, how you structure a session, and how you sit in silence when the client's body starts doing something you did not plan for.
What You Are Actually Getting
Most hypnosis certification programs hand you a manual written by the certification body, add the instructor's personal notes, and call it a curriculum. You leave with a binder and a credential.
This program was built differently. Every one of the 19 modules produces its own student manual written specifically for this curriculum. Not a chapter from someone else's textbook. Not a photocopy of a generic resource guide. A document written to teach that module's content at the depth it requires, with the philosophical framework running through every page.
Behind each student manual is an instructor manual that most students will never see. It contains the clinical depth, the challenge scenarios, the annotated answer keys, and the facilitation guidance that hold the teaching together. The reason this matters to you as a student is that your instructor is not improvising. Every live session is backed by a document that accounts for what might come up and how to teach through it.
And behind every module is a 25-slide presentation deck designed for the way this content actually needs to move through a room. Not bullet points read from a screen. Visual architecture that supports what is being taught and gets out of the way when the teaching needs space.
You are not buying access to a course. You are stepping into a curriculum that was engineered at every layer, from the philosophy underneath it to the slides on the screen, as one coherent system.
Most 100-hour hypnosis certification programs in Canada do not produce materials at this depth. The curriculum you enter was not assembled from existing templates. It was built from the ground up, module by module, for this program.
The Evidence Standard
You will hear claims in this field. Hypnosis cures anxiety. Hypnosis rewires the brain. One session can change your life. Some of those claims have strong research behind them. Some have almost none. Most training programs do not teach you to tell the difference.
This program uses a four-tier evidence framework:
Tier 1 claims are supported by peer-reviewed research, replicated findings, and broad scientific consensus. You teach these with confidence because the literature holds.
Tier 2 claims have emerging research support: published studies with promising results, but the evidence base is still building. You teach these honestly, naming what the research shows and where the gaps are.
Tier 3 claims are grounded in established clinical observation and professional consensus but lack controlled research. You teach these as clinical knowledge, not as proven science.
Tier 4 claims are traditional, experiential, or theoretical. Valuable in context, but you learn to frame them for what they are rather than dress them in borrowed authority.
When a client asks you “does this actually work?”, your answer should be grounded in something more specific than enthusiasm. This program trains you to give that answer with precision, and to be comfortable saying “the evidence is strong here, and less certain there.” That honesty is rare in this field. It is one of the things that separates a trained practitioner from someone who memorized a script and a sales pitch.
Program Structure
19 modules across four progressive layers. Each layer builds on the last. You do not touch a technique until you have the knowledge and ethics to hold it responsibly.
Foundation Layer
MODULES 1-5 | 25 HOURS | ONLINE SELF-PACED
Module 1: History and Science of Hypnosis
How we got here. What the research actually says. The difference between stage performance and clinical practice.
Module 2: The Nature of Trance
Models of mind. Conscious and subconscious architecture. What trance is and what it is not.
Module 3: Suggestibility and Client Assessment
Suggestibility testing. Intake methodology. Learning to read the person in front of you before you pick up a technique.
Module 4: Ethics, Law, and Professional Standards
ICBCH Code of Ethics. Informed consent. Scope of practice. Legal and regulatory landscape. The line between hypnosis and therapy.
Module 5: Safety, Contraindications, and Referral
When not to proceed. Absolute and relative contraindications. Building a referral network. The clinical skill most programs skip entirely.
Skills Layer
MODULES 6-10 | 31 HOURS | VIDEO + LIVE PRACTICE
Module 6: Induction Techniques
Progressive relaxation. Eye fixation. Rapid inductions. Conversational and contextual approaches. You learn them all, then learn when to use which.
Module 7: Deepening and Trance Maintenance
Taking the client deeper. Maintaining state. Reading the signs that tell you where the client's system is.
Module 8: Suggestion Writing
Direct, indirect, and post-hypnotic suggestions. Script development. Writing in the client's own language, not from a template.
Module 9: Complete Session Structure
Building a full session from intake through emergence and debrief. The arc that holds the work together.
Module 10: Self-Hypnosis Instruction
Teaching clients to carry the practice forward without you. The skill that separates a practitioner who creates dependency from one who creates sovereignty.
Applications Layer
MODULES 11-15 | 32 HOURS | VIDEO + LIVE PRACTICE
Modules 11-15: Clinical Applications
Anxiety and stress. Habit control, smoking cessation, and weight management. Pain management. Confidence and performance. Sleep and phobias. Five modules taught in order of evidence strength, each building on the clinical skills you have already practiced.
Integration Layer
MODULES 16-19 | 12 HOURS | LIVE WEEKEND 5
Module 16: Advanced Techniques
Regression. Parts work. Techniques that require supervised practice before you use them with a client.
Module 17: Ethics in Practice
Real-world ethical dilemmas. Dual relationships. Boundary management. The ethics you need after the textbook closes.
Module 18: Practice Building
Professional representation. Building a practice that reflects the standard you have been trained to. No hype. No overclaiming.
Module 19: Supervised Practice and Assessment
A complete session delivered in front of a supervisor. Portfolio review. Written and practical assessment. You earn this credential. It is not handed to you.
How You Are Assessed
Written exam. 50 questions covering all ICBCH required areas. Minimum passing score: 80%. Includes 10 dedicated ethics questions with their own 80% threshold.
Practical assessment. One complete session, intake through emergence, delivered in front of a supervisor and evaluated against the program competency rubric.
Portfolio. A sample client script, complete documentation set, and one self-hypnosis protocol. Evidence that you can do the work, not just talk about it.
What You Will Be Able to Do
Conduct a thorough intake and assessment. Select and deliver inductions matched to the specific person in front of you, not a script. Write custom suggestions grounded in the client's own language. Structure a complete session arc from intake through emergence and debrief. Teach clients self-hypnosis they can carry forward without you. Recognize scope boundaries and make appropriate referrals. And practice with the confidence of someone trained to a standard the field needs, grounded in a philosophy the field is only beginning to catch up to.
A Note on What This Costs
Hypnosis certification pricing ranges from under $1,000 for self-paced video programs to over $17,000 for accredited college diploma programs. The spread is wide because the products are wildly different.
At the lower end, you get access to video content and a credential. At the upper end, you get a full academic program with clinical internship and federal financial aid. In the middle, most 100-hour programs in Canada fall between $2,500 and $5,500, depending on the depth of materials, the amount of live instruction, and whether the curriculum was built for the program or borrowed from the certification body.
This program sits in that middle range. The tuition reflects what is inside: a curriculum that was purpose-built from the ground up, live supervised practice across five weekends, materials that do not exist in any other program because they were written for this one, and an evidence framework most programs do not attempt. You are not paying for a credential. You are paying for what stands behind it.
Investment
The Quiet Fire CPH is a 100-hour professional certification. The tuition reflects what is inside it: 19 purpose-built modules, each with its own instructor manual, student manual, and presentation deck. A four-tier evidence framework that classifies every claim you will ever make to a client. Philosophical foundations that change how you sit with a person, not just what you do when you get there. Forty-eight hours of live, supervised practice. You work with real people. You get real feedback. No amount of recorded content can replicate what happens when a body is in the room.
This is not a weekend credential. It is not a self-paced video course. It is 100 hours of training that you will feel, and it produces a practitioner who is prepared for what walks through the door.

Graduates receive the Certified Professional Hypnotist (CPH) designation through the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapists (ICBCH). This credential is recognized internationally.
A credential is a starting point, not a destination. The same ICBCH designation is available through self-paced video courses that take less than a week to complete. The letters after your name will be identical. What will not be identical is the 100 hours of structured training behind yours, the supervised practice, the evidence framework, the philosophical foundations, the assessment you passed, and the depth of materials you carry with you into practice.
When a prospective client, a referral partner, or a colleague asks about your training, the answer is not “I watched some videos.” The answer is that you trained for 100 hours across 19 modules, passed written and practical assessments, completed a supervised session in front of an evaluator, and built a portfolio that demonstrates you can do this work at a professional standard. The credential is the same. The practitioner is not.
Your Instructor
Miskwa Kimiwan built this curriculum from the intersection of personal practice, published research, and the conviction that the hypnosis field can do better. Author of Sacred Trance, and a practitioner whose work sits in the gap between clinical distance and spiritual bypassing.
Read the Full StoryCommon Questions About the Program
What are the prerequisites?
None. This program is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners. What is required is willingness to do the work, including your own.
Can I complete it while working full-time?
Yes. The five weekends are intensive but scheduled to accommodate working professionals. The online hours are self-paced video and reading completed between weekends, on your own schedule.
What does the hybrid delivery look like?
Foundation modules are delivered as video lessons and assigned reading you complete online before the live weekends. Skills and application modules pair online video coursework with live, in-person practice. The integration layer is entirely live. You arrive at each weekend prepared, not passive.
What is the difference between CPH and other hypnosis certifications?
Most hypnosis certifications teach technique. This one teaches a way of being with the client that makes every technique more effective. The 100-hour structure, the ICBCH alignment, the evidence-informed approach, and the philosophical foundations are not standard in the field. They should be.
What can I do with this certification?
Practice hypnosis professionally within CPH scope. Many graduates integrate hypnosis into existing therapeutic, coaching, or healing practices. Others build standalone hypnosis practices. The certification provides the professional standing and the clinical depth to do either.
